Thank You Paulo

I know I missed last Thursday's Letters... I would have loved to write to my favorite author, Paulo Coelho but then today's theme still looks appropriate so here it goes:

Dear Paulo (FC ako sa kanya),

Allow me to thank you for all the good books that you wrote. They have never ceased to inspire me.

Foremost, I thank you for The Alchemist, which taught me that I can find my God in my quest to find my mission/purpose here on Earth. Thank you for teaching me the importance of following my dreams and for teaching me that to find my mission here on Earth is my way to finding God, happiness, and fulfillment in life.

I thank you for Veronica Decides to Die, which taught me the importance of living and life and how it can be too short. Thank you for teaching me that decisions such as ending a life are not always the means to escape all of life's sad realities.

I thank you for By The River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept, which taught me that love indeed is not an obstacle to materializing one's dreams but rather a force that urges lovers to conquer their dreams and thus find God.

I thank you for Brida, which gave me an insight about the traditions of the sun and the moon and of Witches. Thank you for it taught me too about soulmates and gave me a little bit more of understanding about them albeit mystical.

I thank you for The Zahir and all of life's obsessions.

I thank you for all the other books that you wrote.

Thank you Paulo. For the enlightenment. For the inspiration. For the lessons. For the reflections. And for the deep thinking that I go into after reading your wonderful work!
