Singing and Dancing Our Hearts Out!

The weekend was a fun one for me and the family. Saturday, we went to the Holy Rosary Fest which was celebrated with a Holy Mass and then dinner, videoke and dancing afterward. Filipino food was of course served and I will post them on my Food Trip Friday entry.

Just for the fun of it, I joined the little videoke contest, with €20, €10 and €5 prize money for the first, second and third places respectively. All of us were amateurs, and even if I had a soar throat, I sang anyway. LOL! We cannot choose our own song so that we are lucky if we know the song that we have drawn. The first round was okay since I knew the song. Luckily, I was one of those selected in the final three until I picked song number 4320. Turned out it was BESAME MUCHO. Naku! Kapanahunan pa ito ng aking mga lolo at lola, nanay at tatay! Di ko carry to! How will I ever manage to sing this one when I don't even know it by heart? I only managed to sing a few lines correctly, and the rest was all off key. Haha! And for that, I got the 3rd prize. I know I have embarrassed my hubby but since it was just for fun, I'm sure he understood.

But that was not the highlight of the event. The highlight came when Samantha grabbed the microphone and sang Besame Mucho with our Nanay Cata. She was the one who got the most applause. She was the star. She wowed the crowd. And she made us proud!
