And welcome to the November 3rd edition of Tuesday Couch Potatoes where we post about a movie each week. Last week, we featured Magical Movies. If you haven't seen Practical Magic and The Craft, head on over to Mys' Blog, Thoughts and Obsessions for a great review and a preview.
For this week's feature, we are going DRAMA. If there is one particular film that has tugged at your heartstrings, made you consume a box of tissues, had your eyes red, soggy and wet, and left you feeling bittersweet and nostalgic, then come share it with us!
My pick for this week's theme is The Bucket List, a 2007 comedy-drama starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, two of the best actors there is. The story revolves around two men who met for the first time in their death bed. They are very different in so many ways yet have one commonality: cancer. Given only six months to live, both decided to live their lives in a most fun, exciting way of beating some things they never imagined of doing:
1. Witness something truly majestic. 2. Help a complete stranger for the common good. 3. Laugh till I cry. 4. Drive a Shelby Mustang. 5. Kiss the most beautiful girl in the world. 6. Get a tattoo. 7. Skydiving. 8. Visit Stonehenge. 9. Spend a week at the Louvre. 10. See Rome. 11. Dinner at La Chevre d'Or. 12. See the Pyramids. 13. Get back in touch (previously "Hunt the big cat", added after being earlier added and crossed off). 14. Visit Taj Mahal, India. 15. Hong Kong. 16. Victoria Falls. 17. Serengeti 18. Ride the Great Wall of China
The story is just heartwarming... it would make you cry buckets. One of my favorite scenes was when Cole attempted to reconcile with his daughter. She not only accepts him back into her life but also she introduced him to the granddaughter that he never knew he had. After greeting and kissing his granddaughter on the cheek, he crossed out Kiss the most beautiful girl in the world off the list. I so love this scene. It moved me in more ways than one. And most of all, the official OST entitled "SAY" is sang by no other than my favorite John Mayer.
Here's a preview and I hope you enjoy it. If you still haven't seen this one, you must or miss half of your life.
If you are joining us this week, be sure to add your TCP entry's link to the MckLinky below:
