This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Wheat Food Council. All opinions are 100% mine.
It always is fun to learn about new things, especially when done in a very interactive way. Take the How Wheat Works program for instance, an online multi-media program that takes wheat to the next level. In this program, each participant can virtually grown their own wheat field and teaches them the farm-to-fork cycle of one of the most nutritious crops available today: wheat. The program has four phases, which the participants complete in just four days and in just a few minutes per day: growth, harvest, milling/baking, and grocer's aisle. There are various options within each phase too, like you can choose what type of wheat you want to grow, and how you want it milled, making it an educational experience as well.
Did you know that when you participate in the program, you are also able to help Operation Homefront, a non-profit organization that helps the needy U.S. troops and their families? Yes, for each participant, two pounds of flour, up to 90,000 pounds, is donated to Operation Homefront.
I think that Wheat Foods Council's belief in helping today's generation understand how whole or enriched grain came to be will help them in making wise food choices. Because one understands the nutritional value of the food that he is eating, it allows him to be conscious of what he is eating.
Now that is helping and learning at the same time.
