There are a number of criteria that needs to be taken into consideration before finally deciding on getting your own domain and webhosting service provider. Below are some of the things that I would consider doing should I decide to move to my own domain in the future.

Third: Ask others who have engaged the services of webhosting service providers. Their feedback and experience with the provider will give you an idea of the actual services these web hosts provide. Independent ratings and reviews are just some of the keys to your decision.
Fourth: Read. The information that you get from anything related to webhosting will help you in deciding which to choose and what to do once you have engaged a provider's service. There are various tutorials available on the internet too on installing this and that.
With this in mind, you can be assured that you have chosen the right service provider for your website.
