Food (Trip) Friday: Kangkong

These are my homegrown Kangkong or water cabbage. There is an interesting story to it so I hope you will read on.

My little helper helping out in the harvesting.

One day, was sooo desperate to eat kangkong that when I chanced upon a bundle in the vegetable cooler at the Asian store, I immediately grabbed it. I then took it home and added it to my sinigang. But I never threw the stalks. I stuck them on my planter instead, knowing that they can easily grow their roots back as long as they are on soil. And voila! Grow they did!

So this is my first harvest. And what did I do with them?

Adobong kangkong of course! Heavenly!

  1. ang galing mo naman sis, I will surely try your idea next time na makabili ako sa Asian Store. I have my own little kang-kong story to tell din, :)
Noong sa US pa kami nakatira, may little pond sa likod ng bahay namin, eh di ganon din ginawa ko, "nagtanim" din ako ng kangkong stalks, kaso little did I know, may wild animals pala na nakatira sa backyard namin, parang rabbit yata or muskrat, basta mga ganong klaseng animal, nagustuhan yata yung kangkong stalk, ayun, kinain ba naman, susme!pag kakita ko kinabukasan, wala na...

btw sis, don't forget to submit your link sa FTF site ha.
