A Student Once Again

The Winter Semester 2010/2011 of the University of Stuttgart has already begun last Monday. However, not all classe will start this week. Most of the classes will start on October 25th.

For the last couple of days, I only have one subject to attend: Chemistry and Biology for Environmental Engineers and it was a relief for me because it's my favorite subject. The lectures last for one hour and a half and it was sort of a review for me. I am glad I had very good Chemistry teachers back in high school and college so that as I sat down in class, everything seems to be coming back to me.

I didn't appreciate then the meticulous and detailed way my teachers explained about the atom and the elements and the periodic table but I sure am happy that they did! All those days of learning the periodic table, the configuration, oxidation numbers and energy levels are now being put to the test and into good use.

I also met two girl friends in my class who I find very nice and very easy to get along with: Won from Malaysia and Alina from Romania. They are both environmental scientists and I guess are also about my age. That could be one of the reasons why we get along very easily. Hehe!

I know that being a graduate student will not be easy. Soon, the subjects and tasks will be more difficult. But I am hopeful. I believe that with the support of my family, I will be able to get past the challenges.
